Crowning the King Ant
In times like this,
At us the ants look,
And in great amusement, they laugh.
The termites observe our folly…
Our kìràkìtà,
Our helter-skelter,
In outbursts of laughter they reel,
Never will their laughter stop,
Infact, not until they start rolling on the ground. “Don’t they call themselves the higher animals?”, one asks. “Hahaha! Yes naa.
Higher animals with brains a thousand times bigger than ours oh.” Replies another. “How come what we find easiest to do, they find hardest to do”. And all the ants burst into a chorus of uncontrollable laughter. The king Soldier Ant rises and speaks: “Of titanic sizes are the kingdoms our hands have built,
Of the sands they kick, mountains we have built,
Mountains with jagged peaks and picturesque shapes,
Beautifying the verdant fields and lush forests, For our empires, Kings and Queens we have chosen,
With wisdom, all these, our feeble hands have wrought”, “How wiser than men we now seem”. “It’s a lesson for us to learn:
The bigger their brains,
The more their folly!” ..And all the ants give thanks to God for their tiny brains.
