NAIJATREKS YOUNG WRITERS’ CONTEST
In furtherance of the aims of Ntreks Tourism, we are looking to connect with primary and secondary school children- since they are the future of these tourism potentials- by organizing a travel writing competition. By this, we attempt to arouse the intellectual consciousness of young Nigerians towards the tourism potentials in their environment.
We carry out this contest at the community schools in towns which host significant tourist attractions in the country. Depending on the academic level of the students of the school, we construct interesting topics for the students to write about (for secondary school students) or illustrate with pencil and colours (primary school students). We give various prices to the winners, among which are school bags, adventure novels, books, writing materials etc. and sometimes, a trip to see a wonderful tourist attraction near their location.
Sponsorship
Ostudiolabs UK and many individuals had provided consistent sponsorship for the previous editions of the writing contest. However, we need to keep this venture going, and therefore, we appeal to the public to support this venture so as to increase our reach.
Interested sponsors should please contact us at or .

Phase-2: The second phase of the Naijatreks Young Writers’ Contest 2012 was held on September 27th, 2012, which also marked the World Tourism Day. We decided to organize a visual art competition for the primary school kids of Ilelema community in Degema area of Niger Delta, Rivers State, South-South Nigeria. The community is one of the numerous rustic enclaves lining the banks of the great Sambreiro River. Fishing and farming are the major occupations of the people, and both the men and women of the community engage in the profession.
The children were very happy to engage in the contest. They were asked to draw a man or woman in a boat, catching a fish.
