At Lekki Beach, the blazing sun sits high in its plush sky while the earth and the firmaments sit to lunch on an endless bowl of blue sea.

A man stands in his silhouette, held-captive by the enchanting aroma exuding from the sumptuous dishes. He stands in awe of the unspeakable riches siting on earth’s dining table.

An army of a hundred palm trees battle the spirited breeze blanketing the beach-stretch. The trees, like a great wall, shield this chest of pristine natural endowments, away from the cacophonies and bustle of Lagos city life.

An excited horse struts along with her rider, blinking her pretty eyes at every passing tourist at the beach. A round of horse-riding here costs N200. The rider keeps promising an unforgettable experience for any interested customer.

 

A few hours later at Alpha Beach, the sun assumes her bedtime as she begins to slip into her crimson night gown. Lagosians catch the signal and troop out in hundreds, soaking the saline sands with thunderous music and showers of rum. The aroma of chicken-suya impregnates the air and keeps every visitor glued to the moist beach chairs.

It is night time at the most festive beach on Victoria Island, Lagos.
