It’s another festive Season and the corridors of the Ozones, Silverbirds and The Palms shall again get inundated by myriads of fun-seeking Lagosians. It’s Easter and everyone intends to maximize the short ‘freedom’ to go chilling out with friends and family. And there pops the question: “Where do we go chilling out?”
The first option that hits the minds of most Lagosians will be The Palms Shopping Mall, Silverbird Galleria, Oniru Beach or probably just relax till evening and go clubbing. Any other options? Oh yeah, probably go carting at the GET Arena. Any more places of interest?…erm… ermm… ??
No, no, no, this is not what it’s supposed to be like. You can’t afford to limit yourself or your mind to these ‘beaten-paths’ if you intend to maintain the best taste and quality of life. You may even be surprised to know that there are more fascinating locations to go visiting and more refreshing recreational activities to engage in, even within the Lagos metropolis that are far cheaper than the ones we’re all so used to.
Just a few suggestions here for those seeking locations that are off the beaten tracks and recreational activities that are beyond our local ‘mediocre’ trends.
– Fishing on the Five Cowrie Creek of Lagos Lagoon with friends on a rented Cruise Boat. Cruise boats can be easily rented at Tarzan Jetty, civic center, ikoyi boat club.
– Wind Surfing on the Kuramo Backwaters at Ikoyi boat club.
– Game viewing and picnicking at Lekki Conservation Center, Chevron Round About, Lekki-Epe Expressway.
